What is Endolift? A guide for clinic owners

Endolift is a minimally invasive laser treatment for skin tightening and local fat reduction. Here is how it works and what it means for a clinic.

Endolift is a minimally invasive laser treatment. A hair thin fibre delivers 1470nm laser energy under the skin, under local anaesthetic, to stimulate collagen and tighten the skin. It is used on the face, neck and body.

How Endolift works

Endolift uses a diode laser at 1470nm. The energy is carried through a very fine optical fibre that is passed under the skin through a tiny entry point, so the practitioner treats the tissue from the inside rather than from the surface. The heat created stimulates collagen production and causes the tissue to contract, which is why the treatment is promoted for skin tightening. The same energy can also be used to reduce small pockets of fat.

The laser used for the procedure is the Eufoton LASEmaR 1500, made in Italy. The UK distributor describes the device and the procedure on the Endolift UK website. For the numbers behind the machine, see our guide to the LASEmaR 1500 specifications.

Which areas do clinics treat?

Clinics promote Endolift mainly for the lower face and neck, with the body as a second area of demand.

  • Face: jowls, jawline, cheeks, crow's feet and under eye bags.
  • Neck: loose skin and contour around the neck and under the chin.
  • Body: arms, abdomen, knees, inner thighs and stubborn pockets of fat.

The LASEmaR 1500 touchscreen carries preloaded protocols for areas such as lower eyelids, cheeks, mandible, under chin and neck, which the practitioner can adjust.

Why clinics add it

Endolift sits between injectables and surgery. Patients who want a firmer jawline or neck but do not want a facelift are a clear audience, and the treatment is done under local anaesthetic rather than general anaesthetic. For a clinic the attraction is a premium treatment with a relatively high price per session. Endolift UK says UK clinics typically charge from £2,000 to £4,000 per treatment depending on the area, although every clinic sets its own prices.

Whether the numbers work for you depends on your patient volume and costs. Try the Endolift payback calculator with your own figures, or read is an Endolift laser worth it for a clinic.

Who can perform Endolift?

Endolift involves putting a fibre under the skin, so it must be carried out by a suitably qualified and trained practitioner, and local anaesthetic is a prescription only medicine. A laser is not a substitute for training in anatomy, patient selection and managing complications. Read our guide to Endolift training in the UK before you buy.

What to know before you buy a laser

Three questions matter most: what the machine costs, whether you have the right registration and licence for your premises, and whether your team is trained and covered by insurance. We cover each of them in our guides to the cost of a used Endolift laser, licensing and registration for London clinics and laser safety.

If you are ready to look at a machine, we have a used Endolift laser for sale in London, bought in January 2023 and used for fewer than 100 treatments.
